"Sleep deprivation is a hidden productivity killer, affecting attention, memory, and decision-making in the office and disrupting our lives at home. So what can we do about it?"

This interactive article in the Australian edition of "The Guardian" features two visualizations to inform people about their sleeping habits and provide tips for a healthier sleeping behavior.

The first visualization is a sleep calculator which takes into account the sleeping and waking times to show the number of hours slept as well as visualizing a personalized REM cycle graph.

The second visualization shows a circadian clock that displays the typical body vitals at each hour of the day and the consequences of body temperature, melatonin and cortisol levels for a good sleep.

Unfortunately, this project is not available on the Guardian website anymore.
